Our Story

How we started?

We started as a group of individuals who are interested in keeping and breeding beetles around 2017. We then aimed to promote beetle keeping and support other aspiring beetle keepers and hobbyist in the Philippines. The facebook page “Beetle Philippines” a.k.a “Beetle PH” was created by one of the remaining members of the original founders of the group around November 2018.

Up until this year the page continues to share wonderful stories of failures and success regarding beetle keeping. Because of this we have decided to create a web platform which will be accessible not only by facebook users but also by hobbyist around the world.

What is Elytra?

Elytra is basically the hardened forewing of a beetle(Coleoptera). It serves as a protective cover for the hindwings underneath. Most beetle keep their elytra open while flying but some can fly even if its closed.

Elytra as our new brand!

Our team started using Elytra as our new brand when we have decided to venture and feature other exotic animals that we are also fond of. We chose Elytra because we want to stay close and connected to the hearts of our fans and followers when our team was just starting.
